The Underground Prophets

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." Jer. 1:5

If you have ever been to Washington DC, they have one of the most advacnced Metrorail systems in the country today. Very well laid out, very well organized and easy to understand. You can travel between three states with no problem. When you go down into this subway its clean and very well laid out. The trains are color coded according to there destination, and the maps are easy to understand. All of this is located underground. However, there are times when a train will rise above ground in order to get to its final destination.

This is the same way that God develops and uses the Prophet. Most of the Prophets ministry is in his hiding place or the secret place of God. The Prophets everyday life is His training groud. What he goes through, who he connects and disconnects with, the lonelyness, the rough places, the failures, the frustrations, the dissappointments amd the struggles. These are the things that mold the prophet into what God is calling him to be. Everday life builds character and develops a trust level with God. It is the during the tough times that God will allow situations to bring you to a place of deep fellowship with Him. He allows these things to come your way that you may know Him at a deep intamate level. When the Prophet Elijah was led to annoint Elisha as a Prophet and to become his replacement, the bible says that he found Elisha plowing with 12 yoke of oxen before him. Have you ever seen Oxen at work in a field? If you are walking behind them you litterally have to watch where you are walking because they leave a trail of dung the whole way. This is why they are the preferred choice animal when plowing the field. Because while they are pulling the plow they are also fertilizing the grounds. What am I saying? Where ever you are and what ever you are doing, God is using that place to prepare you for the place he has already predestined you to be. Jeremiah 1:5 says "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."
Three things the Lord is saying:
1. He knew you before he formed you
2. He consecrated your life (set you apart for service)
3. He appointed you a Prophet

All ways remember that there is "A Set Time" for your release. The are many people called to occupy the place of the underground Prophet, until the set time that God has predestined that they be released into the earth and revealed to men "To pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant." Jer.1:10

12 Functions of The Prophet

I received an email today from "Jonas Clark Ministries". In the email Jonas listed the 12 Functions of The Prophet. There are many people who call themselves Prophets but fail to do the job of the prophet. Take a look at these 12 functions so that you can truly understand the duties of the Prophetic Office:


1. Are forerunners who make a way for “greater things” to come (Matthew 3:3).
2. Deal with spiritual climates (Jeremiah 1:10).
3. Turn people from sin to holiness (Jeremiah 23:21-22).
4. Are frontline intercessors (Jeremiah 27:18).
5. Turn the hearts of fathers and sons (Malachi 4:5-6).
6. Challenge dead traditions of men and dangerous spirits of religion (Matthew 3:9-10).
7. Are stewards of the mysteries of God (Ephesians 3:5).
8. Carry lamentations, mourning and woe (intercession burdens) (Ezekiel 2:10).
9. Are foretellers of things to come (Amos 3:7).
10. Contend with false prophets of divination including Jezebel and Baal (1 Kings 18:19).
11. Challenge demonic territorial guards (Acts 13:7).
12. Speak to the nations and kingdoms (Jeremiah 1:5).


Let the true prophets of God come forth in Jesus name!!!! Amen!!
